Coronavirus

My ex-partner and I share care of our children but I am concerned to return them to their mum as she works in a care home where there is COVID-19. Should I return them to her and is it safe to continue to share their care while she is working in the care home?

Whilst the government says children can see both parents during this pandemic, it urges parents to talk about each other’s household situations and whether it is the safest thing for all concerned for the children to move between homes.  In each household things to consider are:  is there a key worker, does anyone have COVID-19 or are self  isolating,  shielding or come into a “vulnerable” group.  If there are people who come into these categories in one or both households then both parents need to agree what is best for everyone.  If you need to discuss this further, please call our Lone Parent Helpline on 0808 801 0323, Mon – Fri 9.30 am – 4 pm or go to Shared Parenting Scotland for advice.
