Will my tax credits go up if I am furloughed and on 80% wages?

Your furloughed wages are treated in exactly the same way as your normal wages, for benefits, so you may be able to get more tax credits, housing benefit or other benefits at this time. If you are on working tax credits, during the coronavirus, even though you are not working, or had reduced hours (to below 16 per week) you would retain your working tax credits and not need to let HMRC know about your reduced hours. These are temporary measures so good to keep your eye on any changes to furloughed hours.
