Pre-budget briefing 2025/26

This briefing paper sets out the five priority areas that single parents say would make the biggest impact for Scottish Budget 2025-6

1. Increased investment in social security and in reducing the cost of the school day.
2. Expansion of high quality, affordable, flexible early years and school-age childcare.
3. Action to remove barriers to entering and sustaining fair work for single parents.
4. Recognition of the importance of integrated holistic local services.
5. Tackle Scotland’s housing crisis and homelessness.
