Being a parent on your own can be lonely at times. Meeting others in a friendly and safe environment can help reduce our stress levels and alleviate feelings of isolation, loneliness and anxiety.
Our local teams run different kinds of groups throughout the year that can help you to meet other parents like yourself. Meeting others in a friendly and safe environment can help reduce our stress levels and alleviate feelings of isolation, loneliness and anxiety. Some groups are for parents only, while others are for families so your children can join in too. During the school holidays we run fun days out and activities for families. All our groups are free to attend.

Dundee
Some groups are for parents only, others are for families, so your children can get a chance to join in too. All our groups are free, and we also provide a cuppa to have a chat over. At special times, we also host fun activity sessions for families to join in.
Edinburgh
We know how easy it is to get isolated. Simply connecting with other single parents and making new friends can make a big difference to how you feel about yourself, how you parent and how you go forward to reach your goals. Lack of time and money can make it difficult to get out and have fun with your kids, but it’s important. In Edinburgh we have regular events for children and their parents, particularly over the school holidays.

Living in a village can be isolating. Getting involved in Groups can help you stay connected with other single parents, have fun and be part of your community.
Single parents can access a variety of different groups dependent on their likes, wants and needs. Single parents are involved in gardening, craft and social groups. Once a week, single parents and their children attend Family, Food & Fun which offers a hearty meal followed by fun activities for the children, giving the parents a chance to chat to other parents or join in activities with their children.
