Last updated: 22/01/2020

Our project staff in Falkirk can offer one-to-one support to children or work with the parent and child together to overcome difficulties within the family home or in school.

Children can sometimes experience difficulties in their lives such as family breakdown, social isolation or confidence and self-esteem issues.

Support for children

Our project staff in Falkirk can offer one-to-one support to children or work with the parent and child together to overcome difficulties within the family home or in school.

Our Befriending service supports children who require someone to help them access local opportunities or who can listen to their worries and offer advice and guidance. Referrals are carefully assessed to ensure each child receives support suited to their needs.

Our Family Support Workers also run Transition Groups for:

  • Primary 7 children
  • Friendship Groups for P6 – 7 children
  • Nurture Groups for P 1 – 2 children within primary schools in the Braes area.

Respite

Respite is when someone you care for, in this case your child, is taken care of by someone else to give you a break. Our respite service can support families who need additional help to access appointments or who need time to recharge their batteries during particularly difficult times.

Childcare

Our Family Centre in Falkirk is a placement provider for children aged two to three who are entitled to free childcare. For more information, please contact the Childcare and Early Learning Team at Sealock House on 01324 506611.
