This briefing considers the main barriers affecting single parent families who have the additional challenge of bringing up a disabled child/children.

Research by Scottish Government shows that 40% of children in poverty in single parent families have a disabled adult or child in the household. This means that we have a statistical basis for regarding the inequalities faced by disabled people as a priority issue for One Parent Families Scotland.
