The payments do not affect any other benefits you are receiving.
Scottish Child Payment
Since November the 14th 2022, Scottish Child Payment has increased to £25 per week and is paid for each child up to their 16th birthday.
When will Scottish Child Payment be paid?
Social Security Scotland received a high volume of applications to Scottish Child Payment when it extended to under-16-year-olds. While they have already paid the first payments to a number of parents, there is a large number of applications that have still to be processed.
Some clients who applied for the first time, or who added an extra child to an existing application, may not have had their decisions yet. Social Security Scotland aims to ensure that the majority of people who applied before Christmas will see their application processed before the end of February. They will send out texts to keep you updated, so there is no need to contact them.
If you have an enquiry about your claim, their contact number is 0800 182 2222.
Please note that this information is for reference only. One Parent Families Scotland is not part of Social Security Scotland and have no control over the processing of claims.
