How can I work if I do not have childcare?

If there is no childcare available to allow you to work full time you can take work that fits with your children’s school hours if they are under 13 years old. You can claim universal credit to top up your income. If you are caring for a child getting the middle or high rate care component of disability living allowance, someone getting the standard or enhanced rate daily living component of personal independence payment or you have a child under 3 years you may be able to get universal credit without having to work.
