One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS) is the lead partner working with Relationships Scotland and its member services, Families Outside and Fife Gingerbread. With the Scottish Poverty and Inequality Research Unit (SPIRU) taking on the role of our learning and evaluation partner.

Weave is built on a straightforward principle: no single parent family should ever have to repeat their story, be passed between disconnected services or be told that someone else deals with that part of their life. Our My Life and Me framework ensures this doesn’t happen.

My Life and Me is the beating heart of OPFS, it is a strengths based, trauma informed framework that was co-designed with families, for families. Using our My Life and Me framework, we build a holistic picture of each family’s circumstances, strengths and priorities. Together, we map the issues impacting families across six connected domains: money, work and training, home, relationships, children and health and wellbeing.

Whatever door a family comes through, they join the same journey, with one shared plan built around a trusted relationship and what matters most to them. Through the Weave partnership, families will be supported as a whole, rather than in separate parts. At its centre will be a ‘no wrong door’ approach.

Weave will be built around a hub and spoke model, strengthening the delivery of our services and expanding our reach across Scotland through the partnership. This will help more families to access the advice and support they need.

As we implement the Weave partnership, we will be recruiting for a number of additional roles in areas including financial inclusion, advice and support roles. We are taking a phased approach to recruitment so keep an eye out for all the latest opportunities.

At OPFS, we know that access to the right support and advice is a lifeline for parents. The launch of the Weave partnership will enable more families to access essential services. Weave will play a central role in helping us create a Scotland where single parent families can thrive.

Covering your tracks

You may not want other people to know that you’ve been searching for information or help from OPFS.

When browsing the internet whether on a mobile phone, tablet or computer, you leave a ‘history’ trail of pages and sites you’ve visited.

It’s impossible to completely avoid being tracked online but if you’re worried about someone knowing which sites you’ve been looking at, there are some things you can do to help cover your tracks.

If you’re using a laptop or desktop computer, try keeping another document or website open in a new tab or window while browsing. If someone comes in the room and you don’t want them to see what you’re looking at, you can quickly switch to another window or tab.

Deleting browsing history

You can delete the history of websites you’ve visited, but it’s important to know that if you delete your browsing history, someone else using the same device may notice.

If you share a tablet, mobile phone, laptop or computer with someone, they might notice that passwords or website addresses have disappeared from their history.
