This year’s Single Parents Day, on March 21st, will be a positive and uplifting occasion, with events taking place across OPFS local services

Events for Single Parents Day 2026
At OPFS, we will be running a series of events in celebration of Single Parents Day at our Falkirk, Glasgow and North Lanarkshire services, giving people an opportunity to get to know about support available in their local area as well as to find out more about our national online parent forum and our Lone Parent Helpline and webchat services.
- Motherwell: Friday 27 March, 11am – 1pm. Join us at Dalziel Saint Andrew’s Parish Church, Merry St, Motherwell, ML1 1JJ for a range of activities including: Hand Massage, Chair Yoga, Easter Activities for the kids, a free raffle, music and party games for the kids. No need to book – just turn up!
- Falkirk: Thursday 19 March 12-2pm. Come along to our ‘Time for me’ event for some relaxation and mindfulness activities, food and refreshments, including cake! No need to book, just drop in at our Centre: 68-70 Forgie Cres, Maddiston, Falkirk, FK2 0LZ
- Glasgow: Friday 20 March, 11am-1pm.
Come to our Glasgow offices to unwind, enjoy a cuppa and cake with our staff, and share your stories if you wish – or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There will be activities including thinking yoga and mindfulness. . Refreshments will be available, including lemon water and herbal tea. No need to book, just drop by to our offices at Standard Building 94 Hope Street 6th Floor Glasgow G2 6PH
Single Parents Day – Pop-up Advice and Information events
To mark Single Parent Day, our Helpline team will be hosting a series of pop-up information stalls in local libraries. These informal events are a great opportunity to meet our team, ask questions and find out more about the support available for single parents.

Our advisors will be available on the day to provide general information, guidance, and support. If you have a more complex or sensitive query, we can help connect you with our Helpline for further assistance.
Our Helpline and Live Chat services will continue to operate as normal while these events are taking place.

Many single parents feel isolated, but support is out there.
We’ve joined up with 13 other organisations across the UK and Ireland this Single Parents Day. Whether you’re looking for local support groups, online forums, workshops or you want to campaign for change, our partner organisations provide a range of services designed to empower and support you.
- Single Parent Rights – The single parent led movement fighting to end single parent discrimination.
- Single Parents Wellbeing CIC – Peer led and connected approach to being a single parent household in Wales.
- Single Parent Information Network – Providing information and support to single parents in Sussex.
- Single Parent Support and Advice Services – Helping single parents by giving them access to services and support.
- Gingerbread – We’re here to fight for single parents and their children.
- Fife Gingerbread – We support and empower Fife’s lone parents and families in need for better todays and brighter tomorrows.
- BAME Lone Parents Network – Supporting and empowering single parents with advice, support and community programmes.
- Frolo – An app to connect, support and empower single parents through community and dating.
- Asian Single Parents Network – We provide social, emotional, and practical support to build confidence, prevent isolation, and combat the stigma attached to being a single parent in the South Asian community.
- NEESIE – Facilitating prosperity for single mums and women with children.
- Horizon – We provide practical and emotional support and advice for single parents in Staffordshire.
- Dads Rock – We provide welcoming, non-judgemental spaces where dads can connect with others, build confidence in their parenting, and access support.
- One Family Ireland – We provide a range of direct services to parents and children, along with campaigning and advocating for legislative and social change to deliver true equality for all families.
