Scottish Child Payment
The new Scottish Child Payment was due to start in December 2020 for families with a child under six. As a result of coronavirus this has been delayed.
Carers Allowance Supplement
The Scottish Government is paying a supplement to people in receipt of carer’s allowance.
Child Disability Payment
Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children will be transferred to the Scottish Government in 2020 and will be renamed the Child Disability Payment.
Best Start Scotland
The Scottish Government has now replaced the Sure Start Maternity grant with Best Start Pregnancy and Baby grant.
Scottish Welfare Fund
The Scottish Welfare Fund provides several grants and payments for people facing a crisis or needing essential household items. You may be able to get a community care grant or a budgeting loan from The Scottish Welfare Fund to buy things you need for your home.
