Who can get cold weather payments?

Cold weather payments are usually paid automatically if you receive:

  • income support
  • income-based jobseeker’s allowance
  • income-related employment and support allowance
  • pension credit
  • universal credit
  • disability premium
  • have a child under five or a child with a disability.

How are cold weather payments made?

The Cold weather Payment of £25 is paid for each seven-day period for temperatures of 0°C and below, between 1 November and 31 March.
