Introducing our exciting project for young parents in Glasgow!

Best Beginnings is designed to provide support and resources to young parents between the ages of 16 and 24, who are raising children under the age of 3.

  • New group starting  Thursday March 27th.
  • Completely free with travel costs covered, lunch provided and a creche too.

The programme will focus on empowering young parents to build the skills and confidence they need to provide for their families and to create a brighter future for themselves and their children. We will include a variety of activities such as workshops, support groups, and one-on-one mentoring sessions.

One of the key elements is the opportunity for young parents to connect with other young parents who are going through similar experiences. We will provide a space where young parents can share their challenges and successes and provide each other with support and encouragement.

Mental health and wellbeing are also an important focus of the programme. We understand that being a young parent can be challenging, and we want to provide support and resources to help young parents take care of their mental health. We will provide workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions on topics such as stress management, self-care, and coping strategies.

Child development and parenting skills are also an important aspect of the program. We will also provide resources and support for young parents to develop their own parenting style and build their confidence as parents.  Including parent and child play sessions.

We provide resources and support for parents to move on to positive destinations including support from OPFS Employability project where appropriate.

Overall, Best Beginnings is designed to provide young parents with the support and resources they need to build the skills and confidence they need to provide for their families and to create a brighter future for themselves and their children. We invite young parents in Glasgow to join us and take advantage of this opportunity.

Spaces are limited so get in touch to book your space as soon as you can.

NB organisations can refer young parents to the project directly or ask them to self-refer on the details below.

Covering your tracks

You may not want other people to know that you’ve been searching for information or help from OPFS.

When browsing the internet whether on a mobile phone, tablet or computer, you leave a ‘history’ trail of pages and sites you’ve visited.

It’s impossible to completely avoid being tracked online but if you’re worried about someone knowing which sites you’ve been looking at, there are some things you can do to help cover your tracks.

If you’re using a laptop or desktop computer, try keeping another document or website open in a new tab or window while browsing. If someone comes in the room and you don’t want them to see what you’re looking at, you can quickly switch to another window or tab.

Deleting browsing history

You can delete the history of websites you’ve visited, but it’s important to know that if you delete your browsing history, someone else using the same device may notice.

If you share a tablet, mobile phone, laptop or computer with someone, they might notice that passwords or website addresses have disappeared from their history.

Browsing in Private mode (incognito)
