Thank you for the school clothes, shoes and stationery bits. Has lifted the worry off my shoulders that the kids will have new school uniforms and things to put in their pencil cases, kids were over the moon with it all.

Donations from NHS24

Thanks to all at NHS24 who very generously visited Families House with donations of school uniforms for families in Dundee.

Staff at NHS 24’s Dundee Contact Centre have worked together to purchase and provide uniforms for children who are returning to school. Working in partnership with One Parent Families Scotland the team, based in Caledonian House, worked off a ‘wish list’ of items submitted by parents requiring support.

NHS 24 Team Manager Carrie Mihajlovic regularly organises fundraising initiatives to assist local charities in the Dundee area. She said,

“Everyone is aware that the cost of living is probably having an impact on the family budget. We hope that by supplying uniforms and other bits and bobs needed for school, we can help take a little bit of the pressure off those who maybe need an extra helping hand.”

The donations have already made a difference. One parent, Natalie said:

“Just want to say thanks to the NHS and one parent family for helping me out with school clothes me and my kids appreciate this and my we girl was very happy with her things 😊. Great thing to do for the parents and just helps all round thank you.”

One Parent Families Scotland are absolutely delighted and grateful for NHS24’s staff very generous donations. These will help and support single parent families across Dundee, some of whom will be going through the most difficult times of their lives during a cost-of-living crisis. Thank you so much, we truly appreciate your support.
