Community Guidelines

Last updated: 02/11/2022

Welcome to the One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS) Forum.

Here are a few guidelines to help you get the best out of using the forum and to ensure that everyone is welcome.

The OPFS forum is open 24/7 for people to register and post on the forum. OPFS staff do not monitor the forum 24/7, we review once a day during the working week for approximately 30 minutes, to see if there have been any specific queries about the forum and/or if any action needs to be taken by OPFS staff. Thank you for your patience.

Be respectful.

We want to make sure our forums are a safe and inclusive space for all people regardless of their ethnicity, faith, disability, gender identity, or sexuality. Any posts that are discriminatory or aggressive towards another member may be removed.

Respect all diversity

There are many different values and beliefs in our community, it’s important that you remember that these differences are okay even if you might not always understand them.

Think about what you want to post.

Consider what you’re going to say and how it may impact others. Do not post anything that could intentionally upset someone or cause them harm. Focus on writing content about being a single parent.

Be supportive.

Support other single parents on the forum, the same way you would want to be supported yourself.

Please don’t post commercial content

Please don’t promote third parties or their products or services, or content that could be considered spam. Advertising which is considered or deemed to be spam may be removed.

Feeling at risk on the forum?

Report any concerns if you feel you or someone is at risk of significant harm. You can email us at forum@opfs.org.uk

Please stay anonymous

Please don’t post any information that could identify you or anyone you’re posting about, including school names/ teachers, or link to personal information like blogs or social media accounts. Please respect other people’s anonymity, even if you think you may know them in real life.

Report content

If there is forum content causing you or others’ problems, please report it to by using the Report abuse link next to posts.
