Ahoy shipmates. I’m a solo pirate with 2 neurodivergent crew members. They’re too young to steer the ship (10 and 14), but I’m showing them the ropes. I live and work in Edinburgh. Apart from a love of all things Piratical, I love Halloween, Tarot, paranormal, live music – me and my 14 year old buddy have a full gig calendar. My kids dad passed in 2021, my friends are all doing “couple” things and life can get a bit lonely/monotonous. Hoping I can find friends to banter with, who like a blether, a coffee and just people to do things with đ

@piratehead Wow, you’re person after my own ⤠I love everything spiritual, tarot, anything other worlds & psychic gifts. There’s a reason behind it đ I love music, gigs & festivals are my love. When my girls were growing up we too had our gig calender. My girls are 19 & nearly 21 and they’ve carried it on. My wee boy is 3 nearly 4 who is being assessed for autism he has social & developmental issues. You sound like someone who would be a lot of fun & if you would like to meet up I’d be happy too

Hi Dopamine_Hopes.
I am definitely up for a meet up – always very happy to hang out with like minded people – doesn’t happen often đ My boy has social issues too, so I’m sad for him that he won’t get the joy of gigging – but he’s sad I don’t understand the joy of Star Wars and Chess – swings/roundabouts đ

I think it could possibly turn around honestly. My boy has sensory issues bad with his ears. He hated music, even when played low. Now he’s trying to sing along asks for it to be turned up, dancing, even says certain one’s are his favourite. There’s a lot of WON’T EVER when it comes to social & developmental issues that not just for me but friends & family with kids who have the same issues at some point their kids changed those WON’T EVER things into DID THEM. All you want is for them to be happy, healthy & safe everything else is just a bonus đ

That’s a good way to look at it and very true. I was told when my girl was at nursery that she had too many “emotional” issues and would probably struggle with school. Now she’s in S4 and on track to study medicine at Glasgow Uni đ And she’s the brightest button I know. Hoping my boy has a turn around moment as most days I struggle to get him to school. If you like, drop me an email on l.campbell@shepherd.co.uk and I will send my number on đ
