Annual Report & accounts for 2024/25
One Parent Families Scotland works to enable single parent families achieve their potential, to reach a decent standard of living and contribute to Scottish society.
Our thanks go to many incredible single parents across Scotland, our co-producers and experts, who continually inspire us, as they face daily challenges, putting the needs of their children first. Thank you for trusting OPFS to be able to give single parents a voice.
Scotland’s 144,000 single parent families make up a quarter of all families with children, yet 36% of their children live in poverty despite 66% of single parents being in work.
This year, OPFS supported 4,656 families across Scotland, providing one-to-one support to 1,885 parents, securing £1.6 million for 2,351 families through welfare and money advice, and helping 1,670 families in crisis with essentials such as food and fuel.
Lived experience remained central to our work, with 123 parents shaping services and policy through our Single Parent Expert Groups. We remain committed to strengthening support and driving systemic change so single parent families can thrive.
